Updates in Cytomegalovirus Prevention in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients
Presented by, Gina Migneco PharmD
While cytometalovirus (CMV) is a common infection that most patients are exposed to in childhood, CMV infections or reactivations are a known potential complication in the hematology oncology population. In the context of immunocompromise, CMV can lead to lower survival and higher rates of other infections and/or graft vs host disease. This presentation will cover different patient specific and disease specific risk factors for CMV infection and reactivation. In addition, the most up to date evidence for prevention strategies will be presented, with special focus on the most recent data for the use of letermovir in this population.
