The OSHP Board of Directors and Awards Committees, made up of past recipients, will review all nominations and the Awards will be presented at the OSHP Annual Seminar.

The Following Awards are presented at OSHP's Annual Seminar. 

Pharmacist Leader of the Year 
Who qualifies
: a pharmacist leader who is a current OSHP member.  
Recognized for:  

  • Outstanding commitment and service to pharmacy  

  • Advancing the role of pharmacists as leaders in health systems  

  • Contributing to innovative practices and growth of pharmacy services  

  • Mentoring, inspiring, or setting benchmarks for the profession  

Pharmacist Practitioner of the Year 
Who qualifies:
a pharmacist practicing in patient care or clinical role who is a current OSHP member.  
Recognized for:  

  • Excellence in and dedication to the provision of patient care  

  • Engagement in interprofessional teamwork  

  • Contributions to advancement of pharmacy practice  

  • Education of pharmacy learners or technicians  

New Pharmacist of the Year 
Who qualifies:
any pharmacist in their first seven (7) years of practice.   
Recognized for:  

  • Early career impact in health systems pharmacy  

  • Sharing innovative practices through publication or presentations  

  • Mentoring or serving as a preceptor for pharmacy learners  

  • Participation in pharmacy associations, professional programs, or community service  

Pharmacy Student of the Year 
Who qualifies:
any pharmacy student.  
Recognized for:  

  • Demonstrating leadership abilities and advocacy for health system pharmacy 

  • Inspiring peers and positively influencing the profession  

  • Devotion to community service 

Pharmacy Resident of the Year 
Who qualifies:
any pharmacy resident who is a current OSHP member.  
Recognized for:  

  • Contributions to their practice area 

  • Demonstrated innovation and development of a range of skills during their residency year.  

Technician of the Year Award 
Who qualifies:
any pharmacy technician.  
Recognized for:  

  • Excellence in the advancement of the role of pharmacy technicians 

  • Leadership in their practice site and/or professional organizations 

  • Contributed to the education of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, or residents. 

Excellence in Education Award 
Who qualifies:
any individual.  
Recognized for:  

  • Sustained contributions to the advancement of pharmacy education in Oregon through development of programming, classroom teaching, or continuing education 

  • Mentoring or serving as a preceptor and student development  

Distinguished Service Award 
Who qualifies:
any individual.   
Recognized for:  

  • Outstanding and sustained contributions to professional pharmacy organizations 

  • Delivery of pharmacy services to the community during the past calendar year 


THE FOLLOWING WILL BE PRESENTED AT OSHP'S Fall SEMINAR. 

Fellow of OSHP
The FOSHP Recognition Program serves to foster and reward excellence in hospital and health-system pharmacy and to grant recognition and promote public awareness of pharmacists who have distinguished themselves within OSHP. Fellowship in the OSHP is granted on an annual basis at the Fall Seminar. Individuals granted this honor are those who have supported the profession as evidenced by a record of consistent and active involvement and leadership in OSHP.  Click here for more information.
