Technician Chapter

Technician Chapter Mission & Governance

The OSHP Technician Chapter serves as a forum for pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy support personnel to:

  • enhance their education and training
  • exchange information with their peers and health-system pharmacists
  • promote the role of pharmacy technicians as integral members of the health care team

The technician chapter elects, and is represented by, 4 officers:  president, president-elect, immediate past president, and secretary/treasurer.  Nominations and elections for these positions occur in the late winter.  All OSHP Technician members may nominate officers, run for office, and vote in the annual technician elections.

Technician Chapter Meetings & Activities

Technician chapter meetings are held quarterly and are free to all members. These meetings are designed specifically for pharmacy technicians and consist of a meal, snacks and or other refreshments, opportunities to network, chapter business, and Oregon Board Approved continuing education program.  Technicians may also attend the Northern/Southern parent chapter meetings with their pharmacist colleagues. The OSHP fall seminar often features “tracks” for technicians. All OSHP events and Chapter meetings can be found on the Calendar of Events

Other chapter activities include: promotion of the national, voluntary pharmacy technician certification examination, service on parent chapter committees, and input to the OSHP Board of Directors concerning issues of importance to pharmacy technicians.
