These honorees represent excellence in pharmacy leadership, patient care, innovation, education, mentorship, professional service, and the advancement of pharmacy practice throughout Oregon.

Pharmacist Leader of the Year
Aron Buegli
Santiam Hospital and Clinic
Aron Beugli serves as the Pharmacy Director and Residency Program Director at Santiam Hospital & Clinics, where he leads pharmacy services across inpatient, ambulatory, and retail practice settings. He is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice and creating opportunities for pharmacists, residents, and students to work at the top of their licenses while improving patient care.
A key focus of Aron’s work is mentoring pharmacy residents and students, helping them develop strong clinical skills, confidence, and a commitment to lifelong learning. He is also actively involved in professional advocacy through the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee (LRAC), where he contributes to advancing the role of pharmacy at the state level.
Aron values collaborative leadership and strives to build a positive, growth-oriented culture that supports innovation, professional development, and meaningful impact throughout the healthcare system.
Pharmacist Practitioner of the Year
Alyssa Rabon
Oregon Health & Science University
Dr. Alyssa Rabon, PharmD, BCCCP is a clinical pharmacist practitioner with the OHSU Advanced Heart Failure team.
She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency training at the Medical
University of South Carolina. Her interest areas include cardiogenic shock and mechanical circulatory support. She is active within the Society of Critical Care Cardiology, and has presented research at the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Annual Conference. She teaches several cardiology and critical care related topics at the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University.
In her free time she enjoys reading, watching college
football, and sunny walks around the neighborhood with her two dogs.
New Pharmacist of the Year
Jessica Potter
Legacy Health
Jessica Potter is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist practicing at Legacy Medical Group - Westside Internal Medicine. She received her PharmD at Ferris State University, completed her PGY-1 residency at Mercy Health Saint Mary's, and finally relocated to Portland, Oregon for her PGY-2 ambulatory care residency at Legacy Health.
Jessica is now the residency program coordinator for the PGY-2 program, and she serves on the board of directors for the Pacific Obesity Alliance; a new nonprofit organization focused on obesity advocacy and education in the Pacific Northwest. She has been engaged with OSHP since moving to Oregon, serving on the annual seminar committee since 2021.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time in the great PNW outdoors with her husband and daughter.
Technician of the Year
Khin Thwe
OHSU
Khin Thwe grew up in Myanmar, also known as Burma, a country in Southeast Asia. While living in Myanmar, Khin earned credentials in human resources management and an advanced diploma in business. After moving to the United States 10 years ago, Khin joined OHSU in 2021 as an Environmental Services Technician. In 2023, Khin transitioned into the pharmacy technician field and currently works in the CHH-2 Ambulatory Pharmacy Department.
As a pharmacy technician, Khin enjoys helping others and making a positive difference in their health and well-being. Khin is interested in learning more about medications, how they work, and how they help patients live healthier lives.
Khin is passionate about creating a smooth, welcoming, and positive pharmacy environment. Khin also enjoys supporting students and new technicians by teaching them about pharmacy operations and emphasizing the importance of teamwork, patience, and efficiency.

Excellence In Education Award
Jessie Dunne
OHSU
Dr Jessie Dunne, PharmD, BCCP, BCPS, FACC is a clinical pharmacist practitioner at Oregon Health & Science University’s Knight Cardiovascular Institute, with a clinical focus of advanced heart failure and transplant. She is a graduate of University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and
completed her pharmacy practice residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. At OHSU, she is the residency program coordinator for the PGY2 Ambulatory Care residency program and also teaches a variety of cardiology topics at the college of pharmacy at Oregon State University.
Dr Dunne is active within ASHP, serving as faculty for their Pharmacotherapy Board Recertification Course. She is the current chair of the Professional Education Committee for Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) but will soon be transitioning to the chair-elect of the Pulmonary Hypertension Practice Network within PHA.
She is also an active member of the American College of Cardiology, serving as the Cardiovascular Team Representative for the Oregon chapter as well as a member of the national Cardiovascular Team Leadership Council.
Distinguished Service Award
Kristine Marcus
Pacific University Oregon
For three more than three decades, Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists member Kristine Marcus, BSPharm, RPh, FOSHP, has dedicated her career to advancing health-system pharmacy through leadership, professional service, ethics, teaching, and workforce development. Her longstanding contributions to the profession have included 26 years of service on the OSHP Board, including five years in elected officer roles as President and Treasurer, as well as extensive leadership with the Annual Seminar Committee, including repeated service as Chair.
Marcus has been widely recognized for her service to the profession, previously receiving both the OSHP Pharmacist of the Year Award and recognition as a Fellow of OSHP. Among her most impactful contributions was helping support the establishment of the OSHP technician chapter and initiatives advancing pharmacy technician licensure by examination in Oregon.
A strong advocate for ethical pharmacy practice, Marcus contributed to statewide and national conversations during the early implementation of Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act. Her work included participation on the Statewide Pharmacy Task Force, co-introduction of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists resolution on conscientious objection, and service on a national ASHP task force focused on pharmacist decision-making and assisted suicide.
In addition to her professional leadership, Marcus has devoted much of her career to pharmacy
education and residency development. As a founding faculty member at Pacific University Oregon School of Pharmacy, she helped develop the clinical curriculum and has mentored generations of pharmacists, residents, and future leaders across Oregon and the Northwest.
